“This image was captured offshore in the Pacific Ocean. The pelagic zone is an exciting place to spend time – you never really know what’s going to happen. Bait balls of sardines were forming, with blue marlin, sea lions, humpback whales, and pelicans all converging to get in on the action. This is one of my favourite shots of 2026. Hundreds of pelicans were apart of the feeding action and they were not afraid of people as they were so focused on the sardines below!”
