“Pygmy seahorses are one of my favourite subjects to shoot – not in the last reason because they’re tricky to find. In fact, both Wend and me are so fond of the animal that it’s part of the Expedition Biru Logo. This rust-coloured individual was found on a fan that typically doesn’t host seahorses, which made the encounter extra special. I had never see this colouration before, The species change their colour depending on their environment. The fan acts as a great home as it’s positioning the animal in an ideal position to catch prey; microscopic plankton and tiny crustaceans flowing with the current.”
