Electric Ballet

“A hypnotic dance with a bigfin reef squid, with only my macro set up at hand, resulted in this shot. It twisted and pirouetted around me, its body flashing electric blues, lilacs and yellows, with dazzling iridescent patterns. I struggled to keep up with this creature that seemed to change shape and hue in every heartbeat. Squids come out at night to hunt, and my video light attracted small critters the cephalopod was interested in.”
